Hair salon review response examples

Salon reviews are personal. People write about how they felt walking out. Credit the stylist for good ones, and for colour or cut complaints, offer a consultation, not a debate.

The reviews below are made up. Change names and details to match what really happened before you post anything. Draft one for your real review with the free generator.

Salon-specific habits.

  • Colour complaints: invite them back for a free consultation, then decide on a fix in person.
  • Price surprises: say how pricing works in one line (for example, length or toner) and offer to go through the bill privately.
  • Running late: own it. A salon that runs 30 minutes behind loses more trust than a cut that's slightly off.
  • Before-and-after photos in the review: thank them for sharing, don't critique the photo.

Examples

Reviews and replies.

  1. 5-starBig change

    Review (example)

Went from long to a bob with Yuna and I feel like a new person.

    Example reply

That's a brave chop, and it really suits you! Yuna was grinning all afternoon. Thank you for trusting her with it.

Why it works: Echoes the change, credits Yuna.

  2. 2-starColour too warm

    Review (example)

Asked for ash blonde, came out brassy and orange.

    Example reply

I'm sorry the colour isn't what you wanted. Ash tones can pull warm on some hair, and we should have talked that through before we started. Please come back for a free consultation with our colour lead, and we'll agree a fix together. Message us at [phone].

Why it works: One line of honest context, no blame, a clear next step.

  3. 3-starUnexpected price

    Review (example)

Nice cut but the bill was $40 more than the website said.

    Example reply

Thanks for telling us. Our listed prices are for shoulder-length hair, and longer hair or extra toner costs more. We should have said so before starting. We're adding a note to the booking page, and I'm happy to go through your bill: [email].

Why it works: Explains once, fixes the cause, takes the bill offline.

Questions

Common questions.

Should I offer a refund in the reply?
Not publicly. It invites others to ask for the same. Offer a conversation, then decide privately.
