How to choose a Chrome extension for Google reviews

A reviews extension runs inside the browser where you're signed in to your business. That's powerful, so check a few things before you click Add to Chrome. Here's our checklist, which ReplyPlate tries to pass too.

The checklist.

  1. Permissions: on the Chrome Web Store page, read which sites it can access. A reviews tool shouldn't need every site you visit.
  2. Posting: does it ever post or submit without you clicking? We think you should always press Post yourself.
  3. Data: what does it send to its servers, and does it keep it? Look for a plain-language privacy page.
  4. API keys: AI keys should live on the company's server, never inside the extension.
  5. Updates: is it maintained? Look at the last-updated date on the store page.
  6. Who runs it: is there a real support contact?

How ReplyPlate answers.

  • Runs only on Google Business Profile, Maps and Search pages, where your reviews appear.
  • Never posts; you press Post.
  • Sends the review text to our server to draft a reply; the AI key stays on the server.
  • Privacy page lists what's read, sent and kept.

Are there other extensions for Google reviews?
